Our Journey

OUR JOURNEY

Why We Built Laubscher Consulting

Because we learned firsthand what happens when a good business is built one disconnected piece at a time.

WHERE IT BEGAN

It Started With a Dream

Laubscher Consulting wasn’t created because I wanted to build websites.

I created it because I was trying to build businesses—and discovering how much had to work around the product or service itself.

Like many business owners, I believed that if I built a beautiful website, customers would come. So I invested in websites, hired help, bought courses, signed up for software, paid for advertising and followed the next strategy that promised to help my business grow.

I was busy. I was spending money. But I wasn’t building a connected business. I was building pieces of one.

No clear path from interest to enquiry, booking or sale.
No consistent follow-up.
Too much manual work behind the scenes.
Different tools holding different pieces of information.
No clear plan connecting it all.

I was paying people to build pieces of a puzzle I hadn’t designed yet—and it was costing us thousands of dollars.

“Learn how to build it first… then hire your team.”

The conversation that changed everything.

THE TURNING POINT

I Thought I Was Learning to Manage a Team

At first, I thought I was simply learning enough to explain the work clearly and manage the people helping me.

I had no idea where that decision would lead.

As I learned about websites, copywriting, enquiries, bookings, customer journeys, CRMs, automation, email marketing, SEO and implementation, I began to see how every customer-facing and behind-the-scenes piece affected the others.

More importantly, I began to understand why so many capable business owners feel overwhelmed. They are often holding together enquiries, bookings, payments, customer communication, delivery and administration themselves—without a clear structure connecting it all.

REAL LIFE, REAL BUSINESS

Learning While Living Real Life

This journey wasn’t built in perfect conditions. It was built while raising our daughters, supporting my husband through FIFO life, managing our home, building multiple businesses and serving clients.

01

Family

School pickups, laundry, meals and the everyday responsibilities that do not pause because a business is growing.

02

Learning

Late nights, early mornings, notebooks full of ideas and the determination to understand each moving part.

03

Building

Testing websites, enquiry pathways, booking systems, automations and customer journeys inside real businesses—not just in theory.

04

Serving

Refining what I learned through client work and building solutions designed for the realities of business and life.

It wasn’t glamorous. But it was real.

When you’re balancing customers, family, business and life, complexity isn’t just frustrating. It’s exhausting. That’s why I’m so passionate about making the customer journey—and the work behind it—clearer, easier and more dependable.

CHOOSING DEPTH OVER NOISE

The Goal Isn’t to Do Everything

For a while, I believed success meant posting every day on social media because everyone said I should.

I invested in advertising campaigns that delivered little or no return. I bought software hoping it would solve my problems. I hired people before I understood what I wanted them to build.

More attention does not help enough when the pathway behind it is unclear.

A website cannot do its job when customers do not know what to do next. Advertising becomes expensive when enquiries are lost or follow-up is inconsistent. Automation moves confusion faster, and another platform can become one more place to check.

The goal isn’t to do everything. The goal is to do the right things, in the right order.

Websites that do not lead customers anywhere
Enquiries that are not consistently followed up
Hiring before the work is clear enough to hand over
Software that creates another place to check
Marketing without a dependable customer pathway
Bookings, payments and customer details spread across different tools

LEARNING WITH INTENTION

I Couldn’t Learn From Everyone

The business world is noisy. Everyone has a different platform, strategy and promise.

I realised I needed to choose depth over noise and learn from mentors whose thinking aligned with the kind of business I wanted to build.

People like Sandi Krakowski, Bushra Azhar and Jeremiah Krakowski challenged the way I thought about business strategy, messaging, customer journeys and implementation.

Learning was only the beginning. Every idea still had to be tested, adapted and made practical inside real businesses serving real customers.

BUILDING BEFORE TEACHING

Every Project Added Another Piece

Long before Laubscher Consulting became what it is today, I was building, testing and refining inside my own businesses and through client work.

Our Own Businesses

Our first testing grounds for products, websites, customer communication, fulfilment and the realities of building a business from the ground up.

Education and Community Projects

Deeper lessons in registrations, payments, learning platforms, memberships, resources, communications and participant journeys.

Client Projects

Local and online businesses with websites, enquiries, bookings, customer information, payments, automations and operational challenges that refined what actually works.

The Realisation

I wasn’t passionate about building isolated websites. I was passionate about understanding the business around them and making the whole customer journey work better.

“Once I learn this, I can help other business owners avoid making the same mistakes I made.”

The promise that became the foundation of Laubscher Consulting.

WHY WE BEGIN WITH CLARITY

Why Every Private Project Starts With Business by Design™

I’ve lived the frustration of spending thousands of dollars without a clear plan.

I’ve experienced the disappointment of advertising that didn’t generate a return because the foundations weren’t ready.

I’ve hired before I knew what to delegate. I’ve believed another piece of software might solve the problem. I’ve chased shiny objects and learned those lessons the expensive way.

That is why every private implementation engagement begins with Business by Design™.

Not because every business needs more consulting, but because building the wrong solution—or the right solution in the wrong order—is expensive.

Before recommending a website, CRM, booking system or automation, we understand how customers find you, choose you, buy from you and what happens after the sale—including the work that still depends on you.

The outcome is your personalised Business Blueprint: a practical roadmap showing what needs attention, what can wait and what should happen next.

WHAT I BELIEVE TODAY

Understanding Comes First

Behind every local business is a person who cares deeply about their work and the people they serve. Before we recommend websites, systems or technology, we take the time to understand the business, its customers and the future the owner is working toward.

A good business is not built around software. Software should be chosen around the business.

Technology should support your vision—not become the vision.

When understanding comes first, every decision that follows has purpose.
